Monthly Prayer Intentions

As part of our Diocesan Year of Prayer we are offering a different focus for parish prayer for each month.  The focus chosen for each month may be particularly relevant to that month of the year or may be chosen because of particularly suitability to that moment in our liturgical year.  Our community has really got behind this initiative and each and every month of our ‘Year of Prayer’ is now spoken for!

Thank you to all parishioners – individuals and parish groups – who contacted us to suggest each different prayer focus.  We have tried our best to allocate these to the month requested or the month that seemed most appropriate to the chosen focus.  

As we move through the year we invite all parishioners to pray for each intention – you will find different prayer resources on each of the monthly website pages (below).  Simply click the month we are in and the resources are there to help you in your prayer. Thanks to everyone who has provided ideas, prayers, resources and links for this intiative.   In addition to content on the website our intercessions at Sunday Mass and our weekly newsletter also feature the prayer focus for each given month.

 A great strength of this initiative has been that the ideas and resources have been offered from across our churches by different people.
