Are You Interested in the Catholic Faith?
It’s good to hear that you are thinking about becoming a Catholic, and exploring what the Catholic Church believes and teaches. The usual programme is suspended during the Corona Virus (similarly with the preparation programmes for infant Baptism, First Holy Communion, Teenage Confirmation, Marriage Preparation, etc).
But don’t wait until the lock-down is ended. You can send a message to the Parish Priest now [email protected]
We believe that whilst faith is very personal it is never private. We are called to share our faith with you and so if you are interested in the Catholic faith, we would love to hear from you and accompany you on your faith journey in a way and at a pace that is right for you.
Maybe you already attend Mass but would like to know more?
This website is a great starting place - on here, you will find a wealth of information, videos, podcasts and articles that we hope will help you. We recommend you start in our Is God Calling You? page and follow some of the links you find there. These will lead you to articles, information, podcasts and videos that may answer some of the questions you have.
Maybe you’d like to talk directly to one of our Priests or Deacons or our Outreach Worker?
That’s great, we’d love to hear from you. Contact details for the parish team can be found by clicking here.
Maybe you’d like to join one of our faith-exploring groups with other like-minded people?
Each year we run a group that meets one evening per week during term-time in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. In the parish, this is known as our ‘RCIA Group’. This stands for ‘Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults’ and is a group specifically for adults who are deciding if they would like to join the Catholic church. There is no ‘commitment’ involved and the group can be joined at any time and normally meets from September up until Easter. At Easter, those in the group who wish to join the church are received during our Easter services and in 2019, we were delighted to welcome Penny, David & Michael who joined our faith community. The current group has been suspended until the end of the lockdown.
None of the above!
If you are interested in the Catholic faith but feel that you don’t fit it to any of the above scenarios for whatever reason, please simply contact us. There is no need to read everything on our website, or wait for the ‘start date’ of an RCIA course or find the perfect moment to talk to Father after Mass. The right time is now, we will do everything we can to respond in such a way that is tailored to your needs and your timetable.
