FROM THE VOCATIONS DIRECTOR OF CLIFTON DIOCESE

YouCAN (Young Catholic Adult Network), working with the Centre for Catholic Studies of Durham University, have organised “On Fire!”, a Conference designed to stimulate evangelisation in the UK. It is scheduled to take place at Durham University, 9 to 11 September 2022, and young Catholic adults are encouraged to attend.

Delegates will learn about God’s call to prioritise evangelisation from priests of the Benedictine and Dominican Orders, how this looks in practice through the work of CAFOD and SVP, and the problems Catholics face across the world through the experience of Aid to the Church in Need. The Conference ends with the formation of regional groups thinking about how to evangelise, and sessions in how this might practically be achieved, assisted by trainers from Catholic Voices. It is intended that the regional groups will continue their work beyond the Conference in a determined effort to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Although YouCAN’s work is primarily concerned with connecting all young Catholic adults in the UK, “On Fire!” is open to all Catholics over 18 years. Once the majority of the “in person” places have been taken, arrangements will be put in place for the talks, but not training sessions, to be live-streamed.

There will be a coach travelling from Clifton Diocese to Durham, accompanied by Clifton Diocese Vocations Director, Fr Colin Mason. To find out more about the coach please contact Rina at [email protected]
