Social Groups


The hope and friendship group is a supportive, friendly and relaxed gathering for those who are bereaved or suffering a loss.  We meet at 11am in St Osmund’s Parish Rooms (next to the church) normally on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month and everyone is welcome.  For our next meeting, please see the ‘Diary’ section on this website.  For further information, contact the parish office.  



This group provides an opportunity for senior adults to enjoy one another’s company and we also occasionally arrange day trips.  We meet every other Wednesday at 2pm in St Gregory’s Hall.  For our next meeting, please see the ‘Diary’ section on this website. Our parish lunches are a wonderful opportunity to enjoy lunch and make new friends.  Open to all ages - everyone is welcome and there is no need to book.  Lunch is served in the Parish Rooms following the midday Mass at St Osmund’s normally on the second Thursday of each month. Bible Book Club meets on Tuesdays in the Parish Rooms 10:45am - 12:30pm  Please join us as we read and study the Psalms. For further details contact John Lester 07899 244072.



The St Osmund’s Bridge Club meets every Tuesday from 13:00-16:00 at St Osmund's Parish Rooms. This is not a formal bridge club, it is a social gathering with refreshments and costs £1 per week. This group meets on Monday mornings from 10.30am until noon in St Osmund’s Parish Rooms (next to the church).  The group is very friendly and is open to all ages.  We enjoy our time together sketching, drawing or painting – whatever you enjoy.  We provide tea and coffee and lack of prior experience or ‘talent’ is no bar to joining!  There is no need to book, just come along; you will be made very welcome.  For more information, contact John and Liz on 01725 510310.



Is an ecumenical world-wide organisation for those with learning disabilities and their families. Here in Salisbury we usually meet on the 2nd Sunday afternoon of the month at 3pm at Holy Redeemer Parish Rooms beside the church – but the date can change in unforeseen circumstances (please see our Diary). Our meeting consists of prayer, music, craft, tea and chat. If you would like more information or know of anyone – of any religious denomination or none – who might be interested please contact Teresa Jay on 01722 322029.



there is a friendly group of parishioners who regularly organise trips to the theatre.  Group visits to the Playhouse can attract considerable discounts, are usually on a Thursday evening and have very good seats.
