Advent Talks

In Christian tradition, the Four Last Things (quattuor novissima)are Death, Judgment, Heaven, and Hell. They are commended as a topic for pious meditation; Saint Philip Neri wrote, “Beginners in religion ought to exercise themselves principally in meditation on the Four Last Things”. 

Traditionally, these are the topics for the homilies preached on the four Sundays of Advent, and this year our clergy have planned a series of talks on these topics to help us to engage more deeply in the beautiful season of Advent and prepare our hearts and minds for Christmas and beyond.
