Confirmation Retreat - 18 - 20 May 2018

Last Friday we set off to spend the weekend at Buckfast Abbey with this year's Confirmation candidates from across the Salisbury deanery. This is always a highlight of the programme and the chance to really spend time with each other but most importantly with God as we draw closer to the celebration of this important sacrament.

The weekend was spent exploring ways of praying and finding answers to those questions that help us deepen our faith.

The traditional custard pie game in the afternoon was followed by an evening with confessions, adoration, healing prayer and praise and worship with our very own Fr Michael. After an incredibly beautiful Pentecost Mass on Sunday morning in the Abbey we made small personal commitments to keep growing in faith before making the journey home. It was such a special time of preparation in a special place and with no doubt, much of the fruit still to be discovered. Link to Photos.

Please keep our Confirmation candidates in your prayers and support them by coming to their Confirmation on Wednesday 6 June in St Osmund's Church at 7pm.

Prayer for our Confirmation Candidates

Holy Spirit, strengthen our Confirmation Candidates with your gifts of Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, and Fear of the Lord, as disciples of Christ.

Fill them with the joy of your presence. Increase in them the fruit of your Spirit.

Help them to experience and trust your dwelling within, so that they may count on your guidance today and every day.

Show us the way to help one another become better disciples of Jesus Christ,

sharing your love with our world and with each person we encounter.

Come Holy Spirit! Come!

Amen.
