Lockdown 2: Awaiting the Return

A second national lockdown in England that pushes into the season of Advent follows a full spring lockdown that left us observing and praying through Lent and Easter in isolation and separation.

These are strange times. Catholics miss the Sacraments but Christ is not bound by the lockdown – He simply walks with us. Churches are closed for public worship but open for private prayer. Our priests and bishops continue to celebrate daily Mass – just without their usual congregations. This is painful, but we know it is temporary.
