Salisbury Catenians raise £1,350 to enable people who are sick or disabled to make pilgrimages to Lourdes.

Attached photo of Frances Rolleston, representing Salisbury Catenians, handing over a cheque for £1350.00 to Sascha Blanchard, a trustee of the Society of Our Lady of Lourdes. Social distancing rules were observed according to the advice prevailing at the time.

Sascha Blanchard said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive this cheque, all our nurses, carers and doctors volunteer their time so this will go directly to the pilgrims”.

Each year, Salisbury Catenians raise money for good causes, both local and around the world.

Lourdes is a small town in southern France and was a quiet place until, the in the mid-Nineteenth Century, Mary the Mother of God appeared to Bernadette Soubirous. It quickly became one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the world. Before the advent of COVID-19, about five million pilgrims visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes each year
