Synod

The synodal process has already undergone diocesan, national, and continental stages. It will culminate in two global assemblies at the Vatican. The first has now taken place 4 to 28 October 2023 and the second will be in October 2024 to advise the Pope on the topic 'For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission'.

Synod Report

The Synthesis Report at the conclusion of the 16th General Assembly of the Synod on Synodality is published. Looking ahead to the second session in 2024, the text offers reflections and proposals on topics such as the role of women and the laity, the ministry of bishops, priesthood and the diaconate, the importance of the poor and migrants, digital mission, ecumenism, and abuse.

A Synod Retreat Meditation with Rev Fr. Timothy Peter Joseph Radcliffe, OP

Father Jan, an expert on 'synodality', speaks on the enriching experiences they have lived in communion with all the faithful around the world.

Those taking part in the XVI Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops have approved a Letter to the People of God giving thanks for their experiences. They explain the work of the past weeks and express the hope that, in the coming months, everyone will be able to “concretely participate in the dynamism of missionary communion indicated by the word ‘synod'”.
